In addition, the readymade materials included with the software have been updated to “better meet the needs of industrial design workflows, fashion workflows, and technical artists working in media and entertainment”. Workflow improvements include the option to generate an Opacity map from the alpha channel of an imported image. Workflow improvements and updates to stock materials The existing Embroidery filter has been updated to support up to eight stitching colors, and the Fill filter has been updated to support blending modes. There are also two new filters: Stylization, for giving materials a hand-painted look, and Perspective Crop, for removing perspective artifacts from scans, to create a tileable texture. New Stylization and Perspective Crop filters, plus updates to the Embroidery and Fill filters Generators create procedural noise, and can be used in place of static images in channel maps or masks: for example, to add dirt to materials. The main new feature in Substance 3D Sampler 4.3 is a new asset type: Texture Generators. New Texture Generators add procedural noise to materials In separate news, the perpetual license for the software, previously available via Steam, has been discontinued, making Substance 3D Sampler available rental-only.
